Having always worked alongside my passion for movement, bodywork and holistic wellbeing I have experienced how complimentary the practices of yoga, touch therapy and movement can be in the process of healing the body and consequently, our relationship to it. I feel an ever increasing need for us to reconnect with the body and for spaces where we can ask questions and experience the entirety of ourselves. As a result Footprint Yoga and Wellness was born.
Originally trained as a professional contemporary dancer, I came to find yoga as a way to support my body during periods of intense physical training. I began to note yogas place within injury prevention as well as its healing potential in rehabilitation and the alleviation, or even reversal, of seemingly chronic aches, pains and niggles. I went on to achieve a Master's degree with Distinction from the University of Chichester studying questions surrounding bodily experience and bodily-based awareness.
Following this I travelled to Bali to pursue a growing passion for yoga and gained my 200hr Teacher Training Certification in the style of Hatha Yoga. Whilst in Indonesia I achieved my Pre and Postnatal yoga certification, as well as my children's and teens qualification.
Having experienced the nurturing and healing potential of yoga, I wanted to further support this through the application of touch therapy and in 2017 achieved my Level 3 Massage Diploma including Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology (Distinction) and Holistic Massage (Distinction).
